I was born in central Mexico. My parents, like most parents, wanted to provide a better life for their children. They believed that moving closer to "La Frontera" would provide a better job and a better income. So they began their journey to the north in 1956 and settled in Tijuana in 1962. In 1968, my family crossed the U.S./Mexican border as immigrants to the U.S.

I trusted Christ as my Lord and Savior in 1976. In the early days of my acquaintance with the gospel, I became involved at a church where I grew in the beginning steps of faith in Jesus Christ and in the ministry of servanthood. It was there Eddie and I met and after two years we got married.

A year later, we both got involved with a 4 through 6th grade Sunday school class for a summer. That summer led us to full-time youth ministry and later adult ministry that continued for the next 22 years.

About 3 1/2 years ago, Dave Burdette approached us for the third time regarding joining the staff of Mexico Caravan Ministries. However, Eddie's immediate response was "thanks, but no thanks, we are in full-time ministry and things are going just fine." But not long after, we realized the Lord had a different plan for us in ministry.

Within a year, we found ourselves going through the process all missionaries have to go through. The Lord put together a team who would support us prayerfully and financially - making it possible for us to begin work as co-directors of Mexico Caravan Ministries in Tijuana. We have been with MCM since May of 2003.

Now to him who is able to immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen
