I was born in 1957 in San Diego, California to Hardy and Delia Passmore. I joined two sisters and one brother. I was was six, seven and eight years younger than my siblings. While a child at home, I was seen as cute and adorable but then came elementary school where I was picked on because of my name, my looks and my weight. I also felt that I didn't belong at home anymore either.

So by the time I went to junior high school, I was determined to be accepted. I tried to fit in with many groups but the group that I felt most accepted was the party crowd. For the most part, I felt like I belonged.

I did a lot of partying and one day, at the age of 14, I overdosed on drugs. My life was actually saved by my father beating me so hard that the drugs got out of my system. However, this caused an even bigger problem at home and I returned to the party crowd.

During my junior year in high school, I was going nowhere fast when an older friend at school told me about Jesus Christ. A few months later, I became a believer and made a radical change from school partier to Bible study leader on campus.

After high school, I met Maggi and we were married in 1978. I went into full-time ministry in 1980 which led to jobs as a youth pastor, program director at a Christian camp, associate pastor of missions and out-reach, and a senior interim pastor. Finally in 2003, I, along with my wife Maggi, became the Directors of Mexico Caravan Ministries.
