Day 3: Tuesday
Posted by: calvarybaptist in Group Blogs
Another day of great weather for building a house. Today we built for a large family on the other side of Tijuana, and the build took less time than the day before (we're all getting a bit more coordinated!) The family was very excited to pitch in and help, and before long all the kids in the entire neighborhood showed up to check out the Americans.
For our last night in country we went to Las Portales (a sit down style restaurant) and had all kinds of food. It was a great time and a perfect way to spend out last evening in Mexico.
After coming back to the dorm we spent some time with a missionary named Frank Grubs who shared his heart for needy children around the world.
And to top it all off, today is Joseph's 19th birthday. So we bought him a cake (which Simon cannot eat!) and sang happy birthday in all the languages we knew (that made a grand total of 2).
We're all pretty tired and will be heading to bed soon. We're split between being happy about returning to our own family, friends and lives tomorrow but wanting to spend more time in Mexico.
Thanks for praying for us! Please pray for easy and quick travel tomorrow.
