Crossroads Wednesday

We've had an amazing couple of days. We've done so much it's almost hard to put it into words. I can't go into detail since my computer time doesn't really permit it tonight, but we'll share all the details later.
Yesterday the women in our group were able to shop for Maria's family & for Rebecca's family. We had a great time finding their necessities & also finding gifts for the children. Going to their homes delivering the goods was memorable. Very emotional. Seeing their neighborhoods has been very eye-opening for those of us (me) who have lived sheltered lives.
The guys got the roof torn off yesterday & prepped for the steel. We prayed yesterday morning for the steel to arrive (long story). The men delivering the steel from the lumber store (they had to bring it across the border from San Diego) sat at the border most of the day. But it did arrive last night, thankfully.
The women were privileged to visit an orphanage today. We fed about 60 children 240 hotdogs, chips, apples & cookies. We got to play games with them & cuddle them. How we wish we could pack them all in our suitcases to come home!
We also got to shower tonight. It was very much needed & appreciated. We also went to a delicious ice cream place.
Tomorrow hopefully the roof will be completed-it's looking super! Also the women will go to Spectrum to minister there. We will wash kids' hair & play some games. I wish we could stay longer so that the men could have the same experiences as the women. We've been able to see a lot of the city as we've travelled around & met some amazing people. We're all becoming a bit braver with our Spanish as well.
Having Olivia here has really been a blessing-the people here seldom see American babies. And she's so cute! The people love her, especially the children. God's provided many opportunities to speak to others because they think she's adorable. We've felt very safe here & the people have been so welcoming.
Thank you for your prayers. Continue to pray not only for us, but for the staff, including Bart, as they serve here. God is at work through this ministry. I know my own eyes have been opened to world missions in a whole new way.
Blessings,
Your Crossroads Team
